What are post-war years?

The post-war years are the time after a big fight between countries has ended.

Imagine you and your friend have a huge argument in the playground, and you both run off to get your friends to help, it's like a war. When everyone finally stops fighting and goes back to playing on the swings and slides, that’s the post-war years. It’s when people start fixing what was broken during the fight.

During the war, buildings might be knocked down, roads could be torn apart, and people might not have enough food or toys. So in the post-war years, everyone works together to clean up, like when you and your friends help tidy up after a big game of tag. People build new houses, get more food, and start having fun again.

Sometimes it takes a while for everything to look new again, just like how it might take a few days to fix the slide in the playground. But over time, people become happy again, just like you after your favorite game is back on!
