The bloodiest square mile on Earth is a place where lots and lots of people were hurt or killed in one small area.
Imagine you're playing with your toys in your room, that's about the size of a square mile. Now imagine all your friends, family, and even some strangers came to your room and started fighting really hard, and many of them got hurt or didn’t come back. That’s what happened in Cairo, Egypt, during something called the Battle of the Camel.
What is a Square Mile?
A square mile is like a big square that's one mile long on every side, think of it as a giant playground. If you put 256 of your rooms together, that would be about one square mile!
The Bloodiest Fight
During the Battle of the Camel, two groups of people were fighting in a small part of Cairo. So many people got hurt or died there that it’s called the bloodiest square mile, like if all your toys and friends had a big fight right in your room and lots of them broke or left!
