What are pipes?

Pipes are like tunnels that help things move from one place to another inside your house or building.

Imagine you're drinking water from a glass. That water came through a pipe, a long, hollow tube under the ground or behind the walls. Pipes can carry water, air, even food if they’re big enough!

How pipes work

Pipes are connected at both ends, like a straw in your drink. When you sip from one end, the liquid moves through the straw to your mouth, that’s how flow works inside pipes too.

If there's a blockage in the pipe, it's like when someone sits on your straw, you can’t drink easily! That's why we sometimes need to clean or fix them.

Different kinds of pipes

Some pipes are round and smooth, like a toothpaste tube. Others might be square or rectangular, like a shelf holding your toys. They all do the same job: help things move from one spot to another, just like roads help cars travel from one city to another.

Pipes are simple but super important, they make sure you get water in the morning and heat when it's cold!
