What are organs?

Organs are groups of tissues that work together to do a special job inside your body.

Imagine your body is like a big toy box. Inside this box, there are many small toys, each one has its own job. Now, if you put all the toys that make a car together, like wheels, a body, and a roof, they become a car. That’s what organs are like, different parts (tissues) working as a team to do something important.

How Organs Work

Your heart is one example of an organ. It's made up of muscle tissue, blood vessels, and other tissues that help it beat and pump blood around your body. Just like how a toy car needs wheels to move, the heart needs its parts to work together to keep you alive.

Another example is your stomach. It helps you digest food, kind of like how a blender mixes things up. The stomach uses special juices and muscles to break down what you eat so your body can use it for energy.

Organs are all around you, in your head, arms, legs, and even your toes! Each one has its own job, just like every toy in the box helps make playtime fun.
