Fusion of gametes is when two special cells join together to make a new cell that starts life.
Imagine you have a box of crayons. Each box has only half the colors you need to draw a whole picture. Now, if you take one box and combine it with another box, poof! You now have all the colors needed for a complete drawing. That’s like fusion of gametes.
What Are Gametes?
Gametes are like those crayon boxes, they’re special cells that carry half the instructions for making a new person. One comes from mom, and one comes from dad.
- From mom: A tiny cell with some instructions.
- From dad: Another tiny cell with the other instructions.
When They Fuse
When these two gametes meet, like when you put your crayon boxes together, they make a new cell called a zygote. This zygote has all the instructions needed to grow into a baby, just like how combining two crayon boxes gives you all the colors for a full picture.
It’s like a teamwork party, each cell brings its part, and together, they create something amazing!
