What are flu spreads?

Flu spreads are like when a sneeze goes on a little adventure and finds new friends to join the fun.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy, and someone nearby sneezes, achoo!, and tiny invisible germs from their nose fly into the air. These germs are like tiny, sticky stickers that can jump onto anything they touch: a doorknob, a toy, or even your hand.

When you touch something with those germs on it and then touch your face, especially your mouth or nose, the germs sneak inside your body and start a party inside you. That's when you feel sick, like having a cold or the flu.

How Germs Travel

Sometimes, germs travel through the air, like a tiny airplane ride. When someone coughs or sneezes, they send those germs flying, just like how you throw confetti in the air at a party.

Other times, germs take a road trip on your hands. You might touch a toy that has germs from another kid, and then you touch your face, poof! Now you have the germs too!

So flu spreads are just germs going on fun little trips to find new people to make feel sick.
