What are feeding habits?

Feeding habits are how animals find and eat their food every day.

Imagine you're at a playground, and your favorite snack is a cookie. Some kids run to the snack table as fast as they can, those are like hungry animals who need to eat right away. Other kids take their time, maybe even chat with friends before grabbing a cookie, those are like animals who don’t rush, and might wait for the best moment to eat.

Some animals are pickers, just like you might pick your favorite toy from a pile. They choose exactly what they want. Others are eaters of anything, like if you ate whatever was on top of the snack table, even if it wasn’t your favorite.

And some animals are hunters, like when you chase your brother for a game, they catch their food by running after it! Others are scavengers, like when you grab a dropped cookie from the floor, they eat what's left over.

So feeding habits are just the different ways animals, or even kids at a playground, find and enjoy their meals.
