Feature flags are special switches that let people turn on or off parts of a program, like turning on a light switch in a room.
Imagine you're playing with a toy robot. It can walk, sing, and dance. But right now, it only walks. Your friend wants to try the singing part too. Instead of rebuilding the whole robot, you use a feature flag, like a secret button that lets your friend turn on the singing without changing anything else.
How Feature Flags Work
Think of a feature flag like a door in a hallway. When the door is open, people can walk through and see the new part (like the robot's singing). When it’s closed, they just keep using what they know (the walking).
Sometimes, you might want to test something with only some friends first, like letting them try out the dancing robot before everyone else. The feature flag lets you do that easily.
You can flip these switches as often as you want, like turning lights on and off in your room, no need for big changes!
