Ethical considerations are about making sure we treat people and things fairly when we make choices.
Imagine you're sharing a big cookie with your friend. You both want the biggest piece. If you take the biggest one without asking, that’s not fair, it's like you’re being selfish instead of thinking about how your friend feels. That’s what ethical considerations are like: they help us think about whether our choices are fair and kind.
When We Make Choices
Sometimes we have to pick between two things, like picking between candy or a toy. Ethical considerations remind us to ask questions like:
- Will this choice make others happy or sad?
- Is it fair for everyone involved?
It's like being the fairness detective, you look at all sides before making a decision.
Why It Matters
When we think about fairness, people feel respected and valued. If we ignore ethical considerations, we might hurt someone’s feelings or make things unfair for them. But if we remember to be fair, everyone gets to enjoy the cookie, or whatever they’re sharing!
Examples
- A child decides to share their last cookie with a friend instead of keeping it all for themselves.
- A company decides not to cut corners on safety to save money.
