What are errors or omissions?

Imagine you're trying to count how many candies are in a jar, but some candies roll out of the jar and hide under the table, that’s what errors or omissions are like.

When Things Go Missing

Sometimes people make mistakes when they write down numbers or tell stories. These are called errors, it's like if you said there were 10 candies in the jar, but actually only 7 were there because you counted wrong.

Omissions happen when something is left out entirely. It’s like you saw a candy roll under the table, but you didn’t count it because you didn’t notice it, that missing candy is an omission.

When Errors and Omissions Happen Together

Sometimes both errors and omissions happen at the same time. Imagine if you counted 10 candies in the jar, but actually only 7 were there, and one more rolled under the table, now you have both a mistake and something missing!

This is just like when people write down numbers for money or tell stories about things that happened, sometimes they make mistakes, and other times they forget to include important parts.
