"Learning from your mistakes is like turning a spilled juice box into a fun game."
Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy, and suddenly it falls apart, poof! You feel sad because it broke, but instead of getting upset, you look at the pieces and think: "Hmm, maybe I can put it back together in a new way!" That's what Cristel Carrisi talks about in her TEDxZagreb talk, learning from your mistakes by seeing them as chances to grow.
The Power of Mistakes
Mistakes are like little messages that say: "Hey, I can help you learn something new!" When you make a mistake, it's not the end of the world. It’s just a step on the way to understanding better. Like when you try to tie your shoelaces and they come undone, instead of crying, you try again and soon you get the hang of it!
Mistakes Are Just Steps
Think of mistakes as steps on a staircase. Each time you make one, you take a step closer to knowing more. You might trip over a step now and then, but that doesn’t mean you can't reach the top, it just means you're learning how to climb better!
Examples
- An adult forgets an important meeting but tells their boss instead of hiding the error.
- A student fails a test but talks to their teacher about how they can improve.
