A curved road is a road that bends or turns instead of going straight.
Imagine you're on your bike, riding down a path in the park. If the path goes straight, it’s easy to follow, like when you ride from one end of the playground to the other. But if the path suddenly turns to the right or left, that's a curved road! It's like taking a turn on your bike, you have to steer a little to keep going.
Why roads curve
Sometimes, roads go around hills, trees, or buildings, just like how you might walk around a big rock in the sandbox. The curve helps the road fit better into the land around it.
Other times, curved roads are made for fun! Like when you're on a roller coaster, first you go up, then you swoop down and around. Curved roads can feel a little like that, especially if they’re really bendy!
How we drive on them
When you're in a car or on a bike, you don’t just keep going straight, you turn the wheel or lean a bit to follow the curve. That’s how you stay on the road and not go off into the grass!
