What are consumers?

Consumers are people who use things to make their lives better or more fun.

Imagine you have a favorite toy that makes you laugh every time you play with it. That toy is something you use, and you are the consumer of that toy. A consumer is anyone who uses a product, service, or idea to help them do something they enjoy or need to do.

How Consumers Use Things

Sometimes consumers use things to get food. Like when you go to a pizza place and buy a slice, you are the consumer, and the pizza is what you're using to feel happy and full.

Other times, consumers use things to learn or play. If you're reading this on a tablet or phone, that device is something you’re using, and you are still the consumer!

Consumers can be kids, parents, teachers, or even your grandparents. Everyone uses things every day, and when they do, they're being consumers, just like you!
