What Makes Them "Certain"?
Imagine you're playing with building blocks. Most of them are just regular blocks, but some are special blocks, like the ones that light up or make sounds. Certain plants are like those special blocks, they do things other plants don’t.
For example, cactuses are certain plants because they can store water and live in very dry places, kind of like how a backpack stores snacks for you on a long walk.
Why We Care About Them
Certain plants also help us or make our lives easier. Like how some kids know all the answers to math problems, certain plants might clean the air we breathe or give us food when there's not much around.
They're just like your favorite toy, special and useful in their own way! Certain plants are plants that have special jobs or features, just like certain kids in a class have special roles, like being the line leader or the class clown.
Examples
- Moss can grow on rocks and help break them down over time.
