What are active agents?

Active agents are things that do stuff on their own, just like you or your toys when they’re having fun.

Imagine you have a robot friend named Zippy. When you press a button, Zippy starts dancing, sings a song, and even waves hello to your dog. That’s because Zippy is an active agent, it doesn’t wait for someone else to tell it what to do; it does things by itself.

How It Works

Think of your toy car. If you push it, it moves, that's like a passive agent. But if your toy car has a button on it and it starts moving when you press the button, that’s an active agent because it decides to move on its own, just like Zippy.

Real-Life Active Agents

Your phone is also an active agent. It doesn’t need you to hold it up every time, it sends messages, plays music, and even reminds you when it's time for snack break! That’s pretty cool if you ask me.

So next time your toy or phone does something fun without being told, remember: that's what active agents do, they take action all by themselves!
