How starvation effects the body?

When your body doesn’t get enough food, it’s like a toy that can’t run because its batteries are low, it starts to slow down and feel tired.

Starvation is when the body doesn’t have enough energy from food for a long time. Think of your body as a car, you need gas (food) to keep moving. If you don’t get any gas, the car can’t go very far or work well.

What happens inside the body?

Your body uses up its stored fuel, like the snacks you save in your backpack for later. First, it uses sugar from your blood, then it moves on to using fat and finally muscle. It’s like eating your favorite candy first, then nibbling on nuts, and finally chewing on your shoes if there's nothing else left!

How the body feels

Your brain needs food too! When you’re hungry for a long time, your brain can feel sleepy or foggy, it’s like trying to read a book with dim lights. Your body might also get weak because it used up its muscle as fuel.

Eventually, if starvation keeps going on, the body has to stop working so hard to survive, it’s like taking a long nap when you’re really tired.
