Starvation is when your body runs out of food and has to work really hard to keep you alive.
Imagine your body is like a toy car that needs batteries to run. When you eat, it's like putting new batteries in the car. But if you don’t get any more food for a long time, starvation happens, the car starts using up its old batteries to keep going.
What Happens to Your Body
At first, your body uses up the food it already has, like sugar and starches. That’s like eating the candy from a bag before you even open it. But when that runs out, your body starts using fat as fuel, like burning through the bigger batteries in your toy car.
If starvation keeps going, your body will start using muscle for energy too. It's like taking apart the wheels of your toy car to keep it running. You might feel weak and tired because your muscles are getting smaller.
Eventually, if you’re starved for a very long time, your body may not be able to keep going, just like a toy car that runs out of all its batteries and stops completely.
