How Does Freewill Vs Determinism. Why I'm a "hard determinist". Work?

I’m a hard determinist, which means I believe everything happens because of reasons we can find, no hidden helpers or secrets. It's like watching your favorite toy car roll down a ramp every day, it feels like it chooses where to go, but really, it’s just following the path you built.

Imagine you're on a train that goes from one city to another. You think you're choosing which station to get off at. But if the tracks are already laid out and there's no way to change them, then your choice is just an illusion, it’s like picking between two doors when both lead to the same room.

Or think of a toy car rolling down a ramp every day. You press the button, and it goes vroom! It feels like it chose to go fast or slow, but really, it's just following the path you made, there’s no real choice, just what happens next.

So being a hard determinist is believing that everything we do, even when it feels like a choice, is actually shaped by things we can understand.
