Bees use a special dance to tell each other where the food is. When a bee finds food, it goes back to the hive and dances in a way that shows how far away the food is and which direction it’s in. Other bees watch the dance and then go to find the food themselves.
Examples
- A bee dances in a circle like it’s doing a little twirl, telling its friends where the flowers are.
- When the sun is high, the dance faces directly toward the food location.
- Other bees follow the dance and fly off to find the food.
