How cancer spreads?

Cancer is like a group of mischievous kids who start a party and won’t stop spreading it to other rooms.

Cancer cells are like these kids, they’re not content staying in one place, like the living room. Instead, they want to go to the kitchen, the bedroom, maybe even the backyard. They do this by leaving the original spot, traveling through the body, and setting up new groups of mischievous kids in other places.

How cancer cells travel

Cancer cells can float away like leaves in a stream. Sometimes they go through tiny highways called blood vessels or lymph channels, which are like tunnels connecting all parts of the body. Once they reach a new spot, they stick around and start multiplying, making more trouble.

How cancer sets up camp

When these traveling cancer cells find a good place to settle, maybe in the lungs or bones, they start growing their own little party. This is how metastasis happens, when cancer spreads to new parts of the body and starts causing problems there too.

It’s like the original mischievous kids started a new group, and now all the rooms are full of noisy parties!
