@60SPH What is Dualism?
Dualism means there are two kinds of things working together, like a team.
Imagine you have a toy robot that moves when you press a button on its chest. The robot itself is made of plastic and wires, that’s the body. But what makes it move is the battery inside, which gives it energy. Even though they’re different, one is solid, the other is invisible energy, they work as one.
Like Mind and Body
In dualism, we think about people like this robot. The body is like the plastic and wires, you can see and touch it. But your mind is more like that battery, it's not something you can grab, but it's what makes you think, feel, and move.
Sometimes people say the mind and body are two separate things working together, just like a robot needs both parts to be whole. That’s the idea behind dualism: two kinds of stuff making one complete person!
Examples
- Someone says they feel sad even though nothing bad happened, the mind is working on its own.
- You think about something, and your body moves, but how does that happen?
