When you're nervous, your body gets ready for a fight or flight situation. This makes blood rush away from your hands and feet so it can go to your muscles. Sometimes the blood moves too fast, and you feel a tingling or numbness, like when your fingers fall asleep after holding on tight.
Examples
- You feel your hands tingle before giving a big presentation.
- Your feet go numb when you're waiting for an important test.
- You get a tingling feeling in your arms during a scary moment.
