From Elipedia, the free knowledge market
What Elipedia is
Elipedia is a community-rated knowledge site. Every topic is explained at four reading levels — ELI5, high school, college, and expert — plus as any persona you can imagine. Readers vote on whether an explanation is clear, and the explanations that work best rise to the top.
How it works
- Search or create a topic. If it doesn't exist yet, one click generates it.
- Read at whichever level fits: ELI5, high school, college, or expert.
- Or switch to a persona: chef, detective, five-year-old — whoever helps it click.
- Thumb up the paragraphs that helped, thumb down the ones that confused. The page reorders in real time.
- Add your own examples, personas, and comments.
Why it exists
Wikipedia is great, but a single encyclopedic tone doesn't fit every reader. Elipedia's premise is that the same idea explained five different ways — one of them for you — lands faster than any single perfect explanation. If an explanation doesn't work for its readers, they tell us, and we keep trying.
The project
Elipedia is an independent project. Explanations are generated by large language models and curated by readers. The site runs on open-source software. Contributions are welcome — start by browsing topics, rating what you read, or creating something new.
