Imagine watching a movie, some people see it in full color, while others only see black and white. That’s kind of like what happens when we dream. Some people always dream in color, and others mostly dream in black and white. Scientists think this has to do with how our brains work when we're asleep. If you're used to seeing things in color all day long, your brain might prefer that when it's dreaming too.
Examples
- A child who grew up watching black-and-white cartoons may dream about going on adventures with a robot made of gray blocks.
- Someone who loves colorful paintings might dream of flying through a sky full of rainbow clouds.
- A person who spends all day working in front of a computer screen might dream of exploring vibrant underwater cities.
