Why Do Leaves Change Color in Autumn?

Leaves are like little factories that make food for trees using sunlight. In summer, they stay green because of a special chemical called chlorophyll. But in autumn, the tree stops making this chemical, and other colors hidden inside the leaf come out, like yellow, orange, or even red! It’s like taking off a green coat to show off all your colorful outfits.
