Why Do Countries Have Different Shapes?

Countries have different shapes because people draw them that way. Sometimes they fight over land, or they make deals to split up areas. It's like when you and your friend draw lines on a piece of paper to divide candy, the lines can be straight, wiggly, or even lopsided.
