How Does a Computer Know What to Do?

Imagine a computer like a very smart robot that follows instructions. When you tell it to play a game, open a picture, or even write a letter, it uses special rules called instructions to know what to do. These instructions are written in a language the computer can understand, just like how you speak your own language!

How Instructions Work

A computer has a brain inside it that reads these instructions and follows them one by one. If you give it a new set of instructions, it will do something new! That’s why computers can be used for so many things.
