You’re still tired when you wake up because your body needs more time to get going, just like a sleepy puppy needs a few minutes before it can run around.
Imagine your brain is like a toy that’s been sitting in a quiet room all night. When you finally say “good morning,” it's like turning on the lights, but it takes a little while for the toy to warm up and start working properly.
Like Waking Up from a Nap
Sometimes, when you go to bed, your brain is still playing with its favorite toys, like counting sheep or chasing dreams. It doesn’t just stop right away. So even though your eyes open and you say “I’m awake,” your brain is still finishing up the last bits of its bedtime fun.
Your Body Needs Time
Your body also needs time to get going, just like a car needs a few seconds before it can zoom off. When you first wake up, your heart is still sleepy, and your muscles are still resting, they need a little more time to say “I’m ready!”
So, even though the morning sun says “it’s time to go,” your brain and body are still saying “just five more minutes.” That’s why you’re still tired when you wake up!
