Why Were Witches Branded as Evil?

People used to blame witches for bad things because they didn’t understand how the world worked, and that made them scared.

Imagine you’re playing with your toys in the park, and all of a sudden, it starts raining really hard. You might think the sky is angry. That’s kind of what happened back then, people saw strange things happening, like crops dying or people getting sick, and they thought witches were causing them.

Witches were sometimes healers, helping people feel better when they were hurt or sick. But other times, they were seen as troublemakers, especially if someone didn’t like them. It was like having a friend who helps you when you’re sad, but also a bully who teases you at school.

People back then believed in things like fairies and ghosts, so it made sense to them that some people could do strange things. But if someone was sick or had bad luck, they might blame the witch, just like how you might blame your brother for losing your favorite toy.

Sometimes, people even burned witches because they were scared of what they thought the witches would do. It was a way to make the world feel safer again, even though it wasn’t fair!
