We need darkness because it helps us see things better when we're not looking at them directly.
Imagine you're playing hide and seek in a room that’s always bright like noon. It's hard to find your friends because everything is too clear, and there's no mystery. But if the lights go out, darkness comes in, it becomes easier to spot someone hiding behind a couch or under a table. That's what happens when we have nighttime.
Why Darkness Helps Us See
Just like how you can see better when you look at something from the side instead of straight on, darkness helps our eyes work smarter. When it’s dark, your eyes use special tools called rods, which are really good at catching even tiny bits of light. This means you can spot a friend in the dark or see stars shining far away.
Also, when we have darkness, like when we sleep, our bodies get time to rest and grow stronger. So, without darkness, we might not feel as refreshed in the morning!
Sometimes, people forget how important darkness is because they're used to always having lights on. But just like you need breaks during playtime, we also need breaks from light, that's why we need darkness!
Examples

- A child who has trouble falling asleep because their room is lit up all night.
