Why Do We Feel 'Déjà Vu'?

What is it?

Imagine you walk into a room and suddenly think, 'I have been here before,' even though you know for sure this is the first time. That feeling is called déjà vu.

Why does it happen?

Your brain has two ways of remembering things like checking a name off a list or having a gut feeling. Sometimes, your brain gets confused and sends that 'gut feeling' signal too early. It feels like the past and present are happening at the same time.

It is just a tiny hiccup in your brain's wiring, not anything special about you!
