Why Waterproofing Applications FAIL?

Waterproofing applications can fail when they don't stay dry like they're supposed to.

Imagine you have a raincoat, and it’s meant to keep you dry in the rain. But if there's a hole in it, water gets through, just like how your shoes get wet if you step in puddles without socks.

Why It Happens

  1. Poor Sealing: Waterproofing is like closing a door with a doorstop. If the doorstop isn’t tight, wind or rain can come in. Similarly, if the seal on something waterproof, like your phone case, is broken, water gets inside.
  2. Wear and Tear: Over time, materials get worn out, just like how your favorite backpack might start to tear after many trips. If you don’t fix it, things can fall apart.

What Happens When It Fails

When waterproofing fails, the inside gets wet, just like when your lunchbox gets soggy if it rains on your way to school and the lid isn’t closed tight. That makes everything inside feel messy and not fun anymore.

So, waterproof things need to be well-sealed, taken care of, and sometimes fixed, just like you take care of your toys!
