Why Venezuela? And why now?

Venezuela is having a big problem right now because it ran out of money and had too many people asking for things.

Imagine you have a piggy bank full of candies, and every day, you give some to your friends. But one day, you realize the piggy bank is almost empty, and more friends are coming over than ever before, a lot more. That’s what happened in Venezuela: the money ran out, but people still wanted things like food, medicine, and toys.

Why Venezuela?

Venezuela used to be really rich because it had a lot of oil, which is like the candy in the piggy bank. People would buy oil from Venezuela and give them money, like giving candies.

But then, the government started spending too much, as if they gave all the candies away at once. Soon, there wasn’t enough candy left for everyone.

Why now?

Now, the piggy bank is almost empty. People can't buy food or medicine anymore because there’s no money, like having an empty piggy bank and no candies to share. That's why Venezuela is in trouble right now, it's like a big candy shortage that everyone can feel!
