The American Revolution was like a group of kids trying to take over a big playground, they should have failed, but they didn’t.
The colonists were like kids who had to follow too many rules from the British, like being made to pay for extra snacks every day. They got tired and decided to start their own club, America, without asking permission.
But why should this have failed? Well, it’s like if you tried to take over a playground with only a few friends, the bigger kids (the British) would probably win. But the colonists had something special: they were brave and smart, just like a kid who finally stands up to the biggest bully in school.
Also, some British soldiers started to feel bad about fighting the colonists, it was like if your friend joined the other side during a game of tag.
So even though things looked tough at first, the American Revolution didn’t fail because the kids (the colonists) stayed strong and made new friends along the way.
