When someone we love hurts us, it’s because they’re showing us how deep their feelings are, just like when a friend cries after you take their toy.
Loved ones sometimes hurt us because they care a lot. Imagine you have a favorite cookie jar that your mom keeps full for you. One day, she takes a cookie without asking. At first, it feels like she doesn’t care about you anymore, but really, she just wanted to make sure you had cookies later.
When Love Feels Like a Push
Sometimes people we love push us away because they’re confused or sad inside. It's like when your brother yells at you during a game, he might be mad, but it doesn’t mean he doesn’t want to play with you anymore.
You can feel hurt, but that doesn’t mean the person who hurt you doesn’t love you. They just have a lot going on inside their head, and sometimes they need help figuring it out too!
