Nobody lives on this huge stretch of Australian coast because it’s too hot, too dry, and has very few rivers or lakes to drink from.
Imagine you're playing with your toys in the middle of a desert, no water, just sand and sun. That's what it's like for people who live near this part of Australia. It’s so hot during the day that it feels like your toy cars are melting! And at night, it gets really cold, like when you leave your ice cream out in the freezer too long.
Why It’s Hard to Grow Food
This place doesn’t have enough rain to help plants grow. Without food, people can't stay there for very long. It's kind of like trying to grow a garden without any water, you just don’t get many tomatoes or carrots!
No Rivers or Lakes Nearby
Most places where people live have rivers or lakes nearby so they can drink water and use it for farming. But this part of Australia doesn't have them, it's like trying to build a house with no bricks or tools.
So, even though the coast is huge, nobody lives there because it’s just too tough to live in!
