Like a Toy That Stops Working
Imagine you have a favorite toy that makes fun sounds and lights up when you press its buttons. Every day, it plays your favorite song and makes you happy. But one day, you press the button, and nothing happens. The toy is just sitting there, quiet and still.
That’s how a narcissist feels when they're bored. They’re used to having all the fun, being admired, and getting lots of praise. When that stops, it's like their favorite toy suddenly stopped working, they don’t know what to do!
Boredom Feels Like Being Forgotten
When a narcissist is bored, they feel ignored or forgotten, just like you might if your favorite toy didn't work anymore. They get confused and even a little sad because being the center of attention is how they know they're special, and when that stops, it feels super strange.
Examples
- Imagine being used to hearing your name constantly, then suddenly no one says it anymore.
- Like a child who needs constant playtime; if you stop playing with them, they get frustrated.
