Mirrors seem to flip you left-to-right, but not top-to-bottom. Imagine looking in a mirror, and your right hand is on the left side of your body in the reflection, that’s why it feels flipped! But your head stays at the top, just like in real life. It doesn’t feel flipped upside down because that’s how we normally see things.
Examples
- Your reflection has your left eye on the right and vice versa, but your head stays at the top.
- Imagine holding up a card with letters, they appear reversed in the mirror.
