The soda in 1-liter bottles of Coke is usually flat because it doesn’t have enough bubbles to make it fizzy.
Imagine you're filling up a balloon with air, if you blow just a little, the balloon stays small and soft. But if you blow a lot, it becomes big and bouncy. The same thing happens with soda. When Coke is made, carbon dioxide gas is added to create bubbles that make it fizzy.
But 1-liter bottles are like smaller balloons, they don’t get as many bubbles inside them as the bigger bottles do. So when you open a 1-liter bottle, there aren’t enough bubbles left to give it that fun fizz!
What Happens When You Shake It?
If you shake a 1-liter Coke bottle, you're mixing up all those bubbles and making them rush out at once, just like shaking a can of soda before opening it. That’s why sometimes it fizzes up more when you open it.
But if you leave it still, the bubbles stay calm and don’t rush out so quickly, that’s why it feels flat.
