The sky changes color because of tiny particles in the air. When sunlight comes through the atmosphere, it hits these small particles and gets scattered around. The blue part of the light gets scattered more than the other colors, so we see a blue sky during the day. At night, there’s no sun to scatter the light, so the sky looks black.
Examples
- The sky looks blue like the ocean when you're on a sunny day.
- When you see a sunset, it’s like the sky is wearing an orange shirt.
