Imagine you have a round pizza. If you measure around the edge of the pizza, that's the circumference. If you divide that by how wide it is from one side to the other (that’s the diameter), you always get about 3.14, and that’s π! No matter how big or small your pizza is, π stays the same. It's like a secret rule for circles.
Examples
- A round wheel rolls across the ground, and you count how many times it spins before getting to the end. The number π helps calculate that.
- You cut a pie into equal slices and try to figure out what angle each slice makes with the center of the pie, π comes into play there too.
