Why is a country changing its flag?

A country changes its flag when it wants to show something new about itself, just like you might change your shirt to match a new outfit.

Imagine you and your friends are playing a game, and everyone has a special color or symbol on their shirts so people know which team they're on. If one of your friends decides to start a new team, they might get a new shirt with a different color or picture, that’s like changing the flag.

1. A country might change its flag when it becomes independent, like a kid who grows up and moves out of their parent's house to live on their own.
2. Sometimes, countries merge or join together, and they create a new flag that shows both groups, just like two kids deciding to wear shirts with both their favorite colors.
