Why humpback whale rescue effort got called off?

The humpback whale rescue team had to stop because they couldn’t pull the whale free anymore.

Imagine you’re trying to pull a really heavy toy out of a sandbox with a rope, but the sand is too sticky, it keeps pulling your toy back down. That’s what happened with the whale. It was stuck in shallow water, and people were using big boats and ropes to try and drag it back into deeper water.

At first, the whale moved a little bit, like when you start moving that heavy toy and it slowly comes out of the sand. But then, the whale got tired or maybe confused, it stopped moving, and the team couldn’t keep pulling it anymore. It was like trying to pull a big toy halfway out of the sandbox, but it just stayed stuck there.

So they had to call off the rescue because they couldn’t get the whale moving again, it was too hard to keep pulling without help from the whale itself. The whale might have to try again later, or maybe another team will come and give it a hand!
