Why does time move a little faster?

Time moves a little faster when we're having fun or doing something exciting, just like when you're playing your favorite game and suddenly it's time to go home.

Imagine you're on a merry-go-round at the park. When you're spinning fast, everything around you feels like it’s moving quickly, the people, the music, even the sky! But if you’re just sitting there, not moving much, time seems to pass more slowly. That's kind of how time works when we're having fun, our brain is busy and excited, so it doesn’t notice how fast time is going by.

Like a racing toy car

Think about your favorite toy car. When you push it gently on the floor, it moves slowly. But if you give it a big push, it zooms ahead really quickly! Time feels like that toy car, when we're doing something fun or active, time zooms by just like the fast-moving toy car.

So next time you’re playing or running around, remember: time is moving faster because your brain is having lots of fun and doesn’t notice how fast it’s going! Time moves a little faster when we're having fun or doing something exciting, just like when you're playing your favorite game and suddenly it's time to go home.
