Imagine you have a favorite toy box that you think has all the best toys in the world. But one day, your friend brings a super cool new toy to play with, something you never had before! That new toy might change how you think about your toy box. Similarly, scientists and researchers sometimes find out things they didn't know before, which means old textbooks might not have all the right answers anymore.

When you're learning to read, your teacher gives you a book with simple words. But as you grow older, you learn new words, like gigantic or wonderful, that weren’t in the old books. The old books still work, but they don’t have all the newest words.

Sometimes, facts change too! For example, people used to think Earth was flat, but now we know it's round. That means some textbooks from a long time ago might say things that aren't quite right anymore, just like how you’d update your toy box when you get a new toy.
