You wake up in the morning with stomach gas because your body has been working hard all night to process what you ate.
Imagine your stomach is like a bottle of soda, when you open it, bubbles (gas) come rushing out. At night, while you're sleeping, your body keeps digesting food, and just like opening a bottle, it lets out little bubbles of gas that you didn’t notice because you were asleep.
Sometimes, your stomach has to work even harder if you ate something gassy, like beans or broccoli. It's like drinking a whole can of soda at once, there’s a lot of bubbles waiting to come out!
Why You Feel It in the Morning
In the morning, when you wake up and start moving around, those little bubbles finally get the chance to escape. That’s why you might feel like you have stomach gas right after you wake up, it's your body saying, "Hey, I've been working all night!"
It's just like when you take a deep breath and then let it out slowly, your stomach is doing something similar with the gas inside.
Examples
- Your stomach worked while you slept, making gas as it digested food.
