What is a Yawn Chain?
Have you ever seen someone yawn and suddenly felt your own mouth open wide? That is contagious yawning. It is like a social glue that holds us together. When one person yawns, others catch it without even trying.
Why Do We Do It?
Scientists think this happens because of our brains special ability to connect with others. There are tiny helpers in our brain called mirror neurons. They light up when we see someone else doing something, making us feel like we are doing it too. This is why you yawn when your friend does.
Is It Only Humans?
No! Dogs catch yawns from their owners too. Even kittens and puppies do it! This shows that being able to 'catch' a yawn might be a sign of caring about others. If you easily catch a yawn, you probably have a big heart.
