Imagine you have a treasure box. Instead of using a key to open it, you say a magic word, like 'open sesame!' That's what passwords are like. Keys are more like actual keys that fit into locks, but passwords are easier for people to remember and use every day.

A password is like a secret code that only the right person knows. A key is a physical object that fits into a lock. Today, we mostly use passwords because they're quicker to type than finding the right key in our pockets or bags.
