Why Do We Still Use ‘Hieroglyphs’ Today?

We still use hieroglyphs today because they’re like a fun, colorful way to write that people can understand even if they don’t know all the letters.

Imagine you have a big box of crayons, each color is a different symbol. That’s kind of what hieroglyphs are! They're pictures or symbols used to write ancient Egyptian stories on walls and stones. Even though we have letters now, like in books, people still use some hieroglyphs for special reasons, like decoration or on signs that look cool.

Hieroglyphs Are Like a Special Language

Think of hieroglyphs as the “fancy handwriting” of ancient Egypt, it was used by kings and priests. Today, we might use them on T-shirts, birthday cards, or even in movies to make things feel more exciting and old-fashioned.

Just like how you might draw a smiley face to show you're happy, people back then drew pictures to tell stories. That’s why we still use hieroglyphs today, they’re fun and meaningful!
