Why Do We Sneeze When We Are Tickle?

We sneeze when we are tickled because our body wants to send out a super-fast message to get rid of something annoying in our nose.

Imagine your nose is like a little house, and you're the boss inside it. When something funny, like a feather or your brother's finger, comes in and starts poking around, it feels like a tickling party! Your nose sends a message all the way to your brain, saying, “Hey, there’s something here that needs to go away!”

Then your brain says, “Okay, time for a sneeze!” A sneeze is like a powerful puff of air, and it zooms out from your mouth, fast! It’s like when you blow out birthday candles, but even faster.

Why Is the Sneezing So Fast?

Your body has special roads, called nerves, that help send messages super quickly. When something tickles your nose, those roads light up, and before you know it, BOOM, a sneeze happens!

Sometimes your brain gets so excited that it even makes you close your eyes or hold your breath for a second, just to make the sneeze stronger!
